The ETC-974 digital thermostat controls three loads: the refrigeration unit, defrosting unit, and evaporation fan, with three layers of function codes and multiple parameters related to the controller that are just powered on.
How to set the Target temperature Range on ETC-974?
The room temperature was supposed to stay in the range from “Set Point” (stop cooling) to ” Set Point + DIF” (start cooling.)
A. How do you set the Set Point value?
- Under normal conditions, press the [set] key, and you will see “SET” on the display, please do not press the [↑] and [↓], or it will switch to “PB1” (Probe 1 room-temperature sensor, and “PB2” (Probe 2 defrosting temperature sensor).
- Press the [SET] Button again, and you will see the current set-point value.
- Press the [↑] and [↓] to adjust it.
- Leave it alone, it will go back to “SET“ in 15 seconds, and back to the normal state in another 15 seconds; actually, you may press the [FNC] button twice time to get back to the normal state.
In short, press the [SET] button twice time to access the existing value, press the [↑] and [↓] buttons to change it, and press the [FNC] button to save the new data and go back to the normal state.
B. How do you set the “DIF” value?
You must access the admin menu to get the “DIF“ value first.
- 1)Enter the Admin Interface by holding the [SET] key for 5 seconds; you will see the code “CP”, This is the folder of compressor-related parameters, please do not press the [↑] and [↓], or it will switch to other folders.
- Press the [SET] key again, and you will see the code “DIF”.
- Press the [SET] key again, you will see the existing “temperature difference value”.
- Press the [↑] and [↓] to adjust it.
- Leave it alone, it will go back to “SET“ in 15 seconds, and back to the normal state in another 15 seconds; actually, you may press the [FNC] button twice time to back to the normal state.
You see, the methods of changing “DIF” and “SET Point” are almost the same, the difference is whether you press the [SET] key shortly or long.
Error Code of ETC-974 temperature controller
- E1:Probe 1 (room temperature sensor) in failure
- E2:Probe 2 (evaporator temperature sensor) in failure
- EE: data storage error
- AH1: the room temperature is too High
- AL1: the room temperature is too low.
Note:
- If E1 and E2 occur simultaneously, they will be shown alternately on the display every 2 seconds.
- Pressing any key stops the beeping of the buzzer, but the error code will not disappear until the problem is solved.

ETC-974 Offers many parameters related to the compressor, what is the relationship between those options?

- ODO is the Delay time for the compressor to start for the first time after the controller is powered on.
- OFT: compressor stops time if the room temperature sensor fails;
- ONT: the compressor running time if the room temperature sensor fails.
- DON is the classic parameter to protect the compressor from frequent starts and stops in a short period of time. There is no relation between the previous and next loop, and this option works after the ODO.
- DOF is from the end of the previous cycle to the start of the next cycle.
- DBI is from the start of the previous cycle to the start of the next cycle.
