The U135 temperature & humidity data Logger exist two types: the U135B with a built-in sensor, U135E with an external sensor probe (cable default length is 100 cm); they are digital thermometers and recorder, can measure and record the thermal and moisture value, the data could be read on display or acquired by the USB port with a specialist software on a computer.

How to set the aimed temperature range?

The aimed temperature range consists of two parts: “SP – D” as the bottom line, and “SP + D” as the top line, Hence, you need to set both the “SP” and the “D”(Hysteresis)

  • SP is the temperature set-point; check it by pressing the "set" key in normal working status, then configure it by pressing the "UP" and "DOWN" keys; Press the "RST" key to save the new data.
  • Hold the "set" key for 3 seconds to enter into the function menu interface, find out the “D”, and change it, remember to save the new value.
  • When HC = C, it is the refrigeration controller mode, the the “PT” (protection time for the compressor) option works;
  • hen HC = H, it is just a heating controller; the PT is useless.

Error Code of AL8010F

There is no buzzer inside of AL8010F temperature controller. Therefore it just shows an error code on display.

  1. "- - -" means sensor error or open circuit;
  2. "HHH" caused by the room temperature exceeds the upper limited or sensor short circuit;

Reduce the Death Rate of Egg

People use various heaters to help eggs hatch, and almost all heaters exist afterheat (excess heat), making the temperature higher than expected. Even if you use a controller like STC-1000, you may not get a baked egg since STC1000 turns off the heater, but the residual heat could kill the embryonic tissue in the egg.

Temperature Controller with PID makes the Temperature Changes Gradually

The common controller can only turn on/off the heater; they are relay embedded thermostats, just like a switcher, it can not control the afterheat.

However, the PID thermostat could gradually rise since it adjusts the heater's power rate by strictly manipulating the output electric current. Lower power means lower afterheat/Residual heat. This is how the PID controller reduces the death rate of eggs.

Some users like to set a small temperature hysteresis/return difference (for example, 0.5℃), wish to maintain the incubator room temperature in a narrow range, it works but brings us a new problem, that is the service life of the heating unit will become shorter, because of the heater startup and shutdown frequently. Maybe the heating strip will not cost too much, but what about other types of heater, and one more thing, the temperature controller with a good quality relay which max support turns on/off 100,000 times.

The temperature difference between day and night in some places is usually beyond what we imaged, the night air cold, noon temperature hot, a common controller could maintenance a constant temperature range, but the temperature span usually not small enough, what worse is the range will change with the temperature outside.

e.g., Let's set the "target temperature" as 36.5℃ and set the "return difference" as 0.5℃ in the STC-1000, then the expected range should be from 36 -37 ℃, But you will find

      • The actual temperature range at noon might be 35.0 to 41.6 ℃. Since room temperature is as high as 32°C, the thermal loss is slower, and the afterheat also disappears slower.
      • The actual temperature range at night might be 34.5 to 41.3 ℃. Since the room temperature at night is only 26°C, the thermal loss is faster than in the day, same as afterheat.

In other words, the daily incubator temperature span is actual from 34.5 to 41.6 Celsius Degree, 41.6-34.5 = 7.1 ℃ or even wider. This is why many chicken farmers try but failed to find out why so many dead eggs.

The PID controller is more intelligent in response to external temperature change because the temperature changes speed is one of the important factors to the PID Controller; briefly, it will output a stronger current at night and offers a weaker current at noon.

A Narrower Temperature Range Helpful to Incubating Gender Selection.

As we mentioned above, the PID unit provides fine-tuning temperature control. It allows incubates more female reptiles or for the opposite purpose.

How to set the target temperature range? Let's call the target temperature as SP (set-point)

  • Press the "SET" key, and you will find the default value jumps,

  • Press the "RST" key to quit from setting mode and back to normal status;

How does the STC-1000 Controller work?

In essence, this unit STC-1000 is just a switcher with the below conditions:

  1. Temperature condition There is a Temperature Setting Value (Set-Point) and a Hysteresis/Difference Value in the configuration interface. Both are editable, and these two data decide the Ideal Temperature Range.
  2. Holding the “set” button for 3 seconds on the STC-1000 thermostat, you will see F1 on display, and the red indicator nearby set is on.

  • F1: Set-point: Temperature Set-point is the idea temperature value user wants to keep around. Tips:

  1. The NC is a close point normally, it will open when the load is working, not mean "always close point" as some temperature controller factories marked, please do not misunderstand this.
  2. Internal components of this controller powered by 24V DC, it does not output AC electricity; hence you have to wire all live and null wires to each port; you may use the jumper wire conveniently.

[table id=18 responsive=scroll datatables_fixedcolumns_left_columns=1 /] This controller offers two extra options more than the STC-8080A+ refrigeration defrost controller. They are the editable delay time for the compressor and the alarm delay time setting.


How to set the temperature?

The aimed temperature range was defined from "F1" to "F2" ; you need to set both.

  • F1, refrigeration starts.
  • F2, refrigeration ends.

Operates

  1. Hold the [SET] key for 3s, and the code F1 will appear.
  2. Press the [Up] or [Down] key to get the aim function you want to update;
  3. Press the [SET] key to check the existing value; Hold the [SET] key meanwhile press the [Up] or [Down] key (composite key) to change the value;
  4. Release all keys once it reaches your aim value; Repeat operation from Step 2 / 3 / 4 to adjust other parameters;
  5. After configuring all values, press the [RST] key to save data and back to normal monitor status. Attention: the modified value will be saved automatically and back to normal status if without operation in 30 seconds.

Through the 3 output relays and 2 NTC sensors, the STC-9100 defrost thermostat owns the below features

  • port 2#: The relay for connecting the compressor to generate high-pressure hot air, it will make the evaporator temperature low down;
  • port 3#: The relay for wiring defrosting unit on the evaporator;
  • port 4#: The relay for alarm output, this unique design allows wiring an external alert which out of the walk-in freezer house;
  • port 5# & 6#: input power for STC-9100 working;
  • port 7#: The NTC Sensor for measuring the instant room temperature
  • Port 8: Co-point for dual temp NTC Sensor
  • port 9#: The NTC Sensor for measuring the instant temperature of the defrosting unit on the evaporator

How to set the temperature?

The room temperature was defined from "F1" to "F1 + F2" (from "SET" to "SET + HY");

You can set them in the user interface or the Admin Interface, below is the method for the administrator.

  1. Enter the Admin Interface: hold the [SET] key and the [Down] key at the same time for 10s; you will see the code "F1" ("SET").
  2. Press the [SET] key to check the current value, and press the [Down] key or the [Up] key to change the F1 value;
  3. Press the [SET] key to save the new data, and back to the menu list, you will see the code "F1" ("SET") again.
  4. Switch to the "F2" ("HY") code by pressing [UP] the key.

Please reference section 4.1 in the PDF instruction for the "setting method in user interface".


How to Configure the Defrosting

This unit controls the defrosting by Time and Temperature.

  1. Temperature Condition: the evaporation sensor temperature is lower than the preset "defrosting Stop temperature" F8 (DTE), which is a significant value to prevent over defrost.
  2. Time Condition 1: the real-time passes the preset interval time F6 (IDF), a regular parameter for almost all defrosting thermostats.
  3. Time Condition 2: If the "defrosting method" you take is the hot gas from the compressor reverse rotary when F10 = 1 (TDF= HTG), it will count the compressor's last stops moment plus F5 (AC), which is a protective value to avoid the compressor frequently startup and stops.

How to set the External Alarm? Unlike other defrost thermostats, which only reference the room sensor, this unit STC-9100 also monitors the evaporator sensor.

  1. Check the Alarm output options in F13 (DMO);
  2. And then check below items F14 - F19

STC-9100 Thermostat Error Code and Trouble-Shoot

Once alarming, the readout flashing and buzzer screaming, you can press any key to stop the buzzer ticktack, but the error code in the display will not disappear until all errors have been fixed.

  • The below codes means error from the Room thermistor: E01, E03, RH, RL;
  • The below codes means error from the defrost thermistor:  E02, E04, EH, EL.
Most errors could be solved by replacing a new sensor, please find more solutions from the below user manual.

STC-9200 Error Code

    • E01 and E02 mean temperature sensor can not get valid data, maybe the thermistor cable is open or short, E01 for the room sensor, E02 from defrosting sensor;
    • HHH/LLL code means the sensor measured temperature value beyond the measurable range; please find the detailed formula from the STC-9200 instruction.
    • Number readout flash means room sensor exists a problem; the detected instant temperature exceeds the allowed range; please check your compressor and change the working status if necessary after fixing the temp sensor.
